CHIANTI and Other Codes
CHIANTI data are included (directly or indirectly) in many other spectral codes, such as:
-
CLOUDY - A package for photoionized plasmas developed by G. Ferland and collaborators.
-
MOCASSIN - A package for photoionized plasmas.
-
XSTAR - A
package developed at HEASARC/GSFC (USA) for calculating the physical conditions and
emission spectra of photoionized gases.
-
PINTofALE - A Package for Interactive Analysis of Line
Emission, developed at CfA, Harvard-Smithsonian (USA)
-
HAOS-DIPER - A Spectral Diagnostic Package
developed by Philip Judge at HAO NCAR, Boulder, US (judge at ucar.edu)
-
ATOMDB - APED (Astrophysical Plasma Emission Database)
- An atomic database developed at the CfA, Harvard-Smithsonian (USA)
-
XSPEC - An X-Ray Spectral
Fitting Package developed at HEASARC/GSFC (USA).
CHIANTI data have recently been used via APED.
However, we will soon provide FITS files
that can directly be used within XSPEC.
-
Arcetri Spectral Code
- Initially developed by Massimo Landini and Brunella Monsignori-Fossi
in the 70s and continuously updated, this spectral code consists of tables of emissivity for line and continuum
as a function of density and temperature in the 1-2000 Å. The emissivities are mostly calculated with CHIANTI data.
