Download CHIANTI

The CHIANTI package is currently distributed in two ways:

within SolarSoft, an analysis environment for the solar physics community;
as a stand-alone package downloadable here.

We recommend you to use CHIANTI within SolarSoft and to setup automatic upgrades. It is easy to follow the instructions to download and setup the package.

If you use CHIANTI as a stand-alone package

First, you should download the following files:

CHIANTI_6.0.1_data.tar.gz - Version 6.0.1 of the CHIANTI atomic database.

CHIANTI_6.0.1_idl_doc.tar.gz - CHIANTI IDL procedures, version 6.0.1. It also includes the gen/ directory from SolarSoft (necessary to run CHIANTI as a stand-alone package), the v.6.0 line lists and the user guide.

Once you download the files, please follow the instructions for installation.
